OUR STORY
Aliya came from the combination of founders Alexia and Talia's names. By great coincidence, 'Aliya' also means "ascent" or "going up" in Hebrew, reflecting their upward move to Hong Kong from Belgium.
It all started with the love of jewellery and diamonds.
When Alexia and Talia met one bright day, they shared their passion for expressing themselves through elegant pieces of fine jewellery; how it can be a single tiny accessory to add to your outfit, yet has the power to make you feel so unique.
With the skills and knowledge they’ve acquired through their backgrounds in the Diamond and Jewellery industries, they started creating their first pieces for fun. They also started making more and more after receiving great feedback from friends and families.
Not long after, Alexia and Talia recognised the many women who also long for pieces that will express themselves and showcase their personalities, as well as compliment their outfits for any day. They decided to collaborate and synergise their styles to fulfill their goals in making the finest, most elegant pieces of jewellery for women in Hong Kong, and all over the world.
ALEXIA SCHAMISSO
Alexia was born in Antwerp, Belgium, the capital of diamonds for over 400 years. She grew up in a family of diamond dealers, with her great grandfather and grandfather kickstarting their diamond manufacturing business. Their business has also been joined by her father and brother.
Despite having an established background in diamonds, Alexia had different aspirations - she graduated with a masters in Communications and Marketing and pursued this as a career in various industries including PR, medicine and wellness.
In search for a new adventure and with the great timing of her husband's job offer to manage a Belgian Diamond company 7 years ago, her journey to Hong Kong started. She is now a proud mother of two happy young children, as well as a proud owner of Aliya Fine Jewellery.
TALIA KAGAN
Talia was born in Brussels, Belgium. She was inspired by her family in the diamond and jewellery businesses. Her mom is also a jewellery designer, and her uncle deals diamonds in Antwerp.
She was taught all the skills she needed to create her own elegant pieces. In pursuit of wanting to run successful businesses, she graduated with a Master's in International Business in Belgium and moved to Paris to specialize in Marketing, Communication and Commercial Strategies. Her Parisian adventure allowed her to work for famous luxury brands for more than 10 years.
After 12 years in Paris, Talia moved to Hong Kong with her family, and is now a proud mother of 2 wonderful children. With her acquired taste in "French Elegancy" and passion in jewellery, she decided to start Aliya Fine Jewellery with Alexia.
